PayPal searching for scarce developer skills

EBAY-OWNED PayPal has joined the ranks of Apple, Google and Research in Motion in trying to attract developers.

Only a handful of PayPal-certified developers are from Australia and the online payments company had considerable scope for growth, alliances and vertical markets head Glenn Lim said. PayPal began to certify software developers in the US some time ago and will introduce the scheme here in July.

“We’re looking for people with a business slant and with e-payments skills in general,” Mr Lim said. PayPal Australia will also launch a partner program to recruit solution providers to help non-profit organisations accept donations on the internet.
